Project Summary
Horacio D. reached out with a very specific challenge — a pie-shaped slip behind his home in Sunny Isles Beach that measured only nine feet wide at its narrowest point. He wanted to protect his 21-foot bowrider but couldn't install a traditional lift due to limited clearance and seawall geometry.
The Challenge
The wedge-shaped canal slip provided little margin for error — too narrow for conventional lifts and too irregular for a framed dock system. Horacio needed a port that could fit safely within a 9-foot space without touching the seawall, support his 21′ fiberglass I/O hull without flexing, and allow easy boarding and launch in a confined area.
Our Solution
We installed a 20-foot Wave Armor Pro 8 Boat Port anchored with dual 2-inch galvanized pipe brackets and HD collars for precise alignment. The 8-foot profile gave Horacio just enough clearance, and the port's tapered entry made loading smooth even in tight quarters. The port's full-length roller system self-centers the hull and provides effortless drive-on access while protecting the sterndrive unit from contact.
